Endangered Natural State

$1,000.00

This piece embodies the state of Arkansas. Known as the "Natural State," I wanted to capture its unique attributes while continuing to think about educating my viewers about endangered species. Known for its nature, the piece harbors colors found amongst the trees statewide in autumn. Following the elevation layers, the hues lead the viewer through the hills and planes. The Arkansas River can also be seen streaming through the middle of the piece while cutting through the Ozarks Natural Forest. There, an underwater waterfall can be found. To the right side of the work, the state's most endangered plant, the Southern Spicebush, can be seen growing where it is naturally found.
